Each month, I will offer a few select birthstone jewels. They may be loose birthstones, finished
birthstone jewelry, traditional birthstones, or alternate birthstones. Some will be discounted.
They will always be hand-selected or custom cut with birthday gifts in mind. Following are my October

My Personal Suggested Alternative October Birthstone is Fire Opal. This sometimes-neglected gem is a natural
transparent material the color of flame (orange or red), and it may sometimes display a precious play of color.
Certain localities support larger stones (www.juniperridgeopal.com) and the
gem may be presented in a variety of ways, from faceting to carving.
