XXX Professional Faceting Polish is a family of polishing compounds for gem faceting that was developed for use on composite (non-metallic) laps such as Corian, the Wizard Lap, Phenolic, Acrylic, etc. Testing was done on Corian, but any similar material will work, as the polish creates a thin, super-slick film between the lap surface and the gem. I developed and tested XXX on Corian laps. And, I recommend the same laps for these polishes as I do for Voodoo Magic Faceting Polish. XXX Professional Faceting Polish was developed by professional Gemstone Artist John Bailey specifically for polishing facets on colored stones between hardness of 3 and 8+. It is THE FASTEST professional polishing system that I've seen - even faster than Voodoo. I developed it for myself, but decided to offer it to other cutters. This polish is not for beginners. It is not as mess-free as Voodoo. It requires a separate activator/extender, but is also not oil-based, so the facets clean easier for inspection. It is a professional-grade power tool for very rapid and economical facet polishing. This is the professional-power polish that has increased my productivity by around 20% due to less time required for pre-polishing. I no longer pre-polish any gems under 14mm if the material is under hardness of 8. Why XXX Professional Faceting Polish is special: Even faster and more aggressive than Voodoo – The 14,000 polish will work on Opal, Apatite, and Topaz-on-cleavage, but cuts almost as fast as a RED Newbond (600) lap on many stones!
