Voodoo Magic Polish is a special diamond-carrying compound for gem faceting that was developed for
use on composite (non-metallic) laps such as Corian, the Wizard Lap, Phenolic, Acrylic, etc.
Testing was done on Corian, but any similar material should work well, as the polish creates
a thin film between the lap surface and the gem.
I developed and tested Voodoo on Corian laps. And, at present, I recommend the following laps (in order of preference):
Voodoo Magic Carving Polish is now available in limited quantities. This polish is a completely different formula from the Faceting Polish. It is designed specifically for maximum stickiness to stay on your bristle-brushes for polishing hand-carved contours in all gem materials. It is recommended that this polish be used at slower to medium speeds to keep heat to a minimum. Like most similar compounds, it will thin with higher temperatures. To order CARVING Polish, simply specify this in the "notes" section of the order form below. I am continuing to adjust the compounding for Voodoo to improve performance - especially for softer and problematic stones.
